Not so traditional ingredients are making their way on to cocktail menus. Refreshing and unique combinations like basil and strawberry are unexpected and delicious. Pizza Gallery & Grill offers guests plenty of creative concoctions.
Here’s a preview of just one of their artistic drink recipes.
1 1/2 ounce Ketel One vodka
1 sugar cube
2 lemon wedges
3 basil leaves
1 ounce strawberry puree
Preparation: Muddle first five ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and top with soda. Shake and serve in a chilled glass. Garnish with a strawberry, fresh basil leaves, a slice of lime and a lemon twist.
Getting to Know: Ericka Heinly
Ericka Heinly had a hand in creating all of the drinks for the restaurant’s latest menu, including new favorites such as The Bella Rosa, an Italian take on the mojito, and the Michelangelo Rita, a mango basil jalapeno margarita.
At Pizza Gallery & Grill, Ericka serves not only as a bartender, but also as the restaurant’s bar manager and event specialist. Her favorite part of it all is “making people happy.”
