As the executive director of AMIkids Space Coast, formerly Space Coast Marine Institute, Marvin is passionate about the organization’s catch phrase “separating a troubled past with a bright future.” AMIKids is a six to nine month moderate-security residential facility for boys ages 14-18 who have committed crimes. “We want to show the boys and the community that they are capable of giving back to the community and not continue to be takers.” The organization has a successful record, students continue to excel academically and 76 percent of graduates do not reoffend. “Our focus is to work with these young men through behavior modification, a strict educational curriculum, and counseling services to rehabilitate them and return them to their communities as contributing members of society.”
