sebastian skydive

By Zachary Field

For the ultimate eye-popping, heart-stopping, pulse-throbbing experience over the Space Coast, Skydive Sebastian offers thrill seekers the most extreme adrenalin rush under the sun. Just a hop, skip, and a “jump” away from downtown Melbourne, the company has put thousands of new skydivers in the air with tandem and accelerated freefall courses since its opening in 1984.

First-timers climb to a nerve-racking 13,500 feet and are then launched into a 60-second tandem freefall. Rocketing towards the earth at over 120 miles per hour, skydivers get spectacular views of the Sebastian Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean.

If you think the ride is over once the parachute opens, think again! Participants enjoy a five-minute parachute ride back to earth, gliding over the scenic Space Coast.

“We have a great staff here with an excellent safety record,” says Amanda Owens, a seven-year skydiver who manages Skydive Sebastian. All instructors are highly trained, with thousands of jumps and are certification through the United States Parachute Association.

“Our staff members definitely make Skydive Sebastian an experience to remember,” says Owen.

And if fancy chocolates and bouquets aren’t quite your thing this Valentine’s Day, Skydive Sebastian has got you covered: During the month of February, the “Shove Your Love” package will be available to couples looking for that something special. Couples will enjoy tandem jumps with video, prepared picnic lunches for two and souvenirs.

Whether you are an experienced jumper or merely looking for a thrill, you will enjoy one of the most riveting locations a skydiving center can provide. Without a doubt, Skydive Sebastian offers an experience that is truly out of this world.
