Boiled peanuts are mostly known as side-of-the-road pit stop snacks of the Southeast, but they actually make a really tasty, healthy snack. My Zesty Boiled Peanuts add a kick to this traditional snack this is sure to be more fulfilling and better for you then that bag of greasy potato chips. They’re simple to make, with only 3 ingredients, and I bet the whole family will enjoy them!

 

Prep-to-Eat Time: Approx. 4 hours

 

Ingredients:

Raw, natural jumbo peanuts

Old Bay

Water

 

Directions:

Put peanuts in a large pot and fill with enough water to cover. Sprinkle VERY generously with Old Bay (most of the seasoning will get lost in the water). Stir. Cover and bring to a boil. Continue to boil for 4 hours.

Drain the peanuts and add more Old Bay if desired. Serve warm.

To Store: Store in an airtight bag in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.

To Reheat: Place peanuts in a microwave safe bowl and fill with enough water to cover. Microwave for 1-2 minutes. Drain, re-season if desired, and serve.
