The Health First Foundation has awarded eleven $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors at nine Brevard County high schools who will be pursuing advanced degrees in medical studies at various colleges across the region. The criteria for scholarship selection included grade point average, school and community activities, financial need, and a written essay by applicants about their career goals and future plans.  More than 35 applications were received and reviewed by the selection committee.  The winners are eligible for a second year grant of another $1,000 if they continue their studies and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
