Does your morning routine require a jolt of caffeine?  Are you an admitted chocoholic or still in denial?   If you answered “yes” to one of more of these questions then Brevard Achievement Center’s (BAC) eighth annual fundraiser “One Sweet Night: A Celebration of Coffee and Chocolate” is an event you won’t want to miss.

Presented by Southern Janitor and the Viera High School Student Government, “One Sweet Night” will be held on Saturday, February 23 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Space Coast Convention Center/Holiday Inn Express-Cocoa. The event features over 20 local and national restaurants, bakeries and chocolatiers like Ossario Bakery & Café, Merri Cakes, Longhorn Steakhouse, A New York Pizza House, Dana’s Cupcakes, Grills Seafood and Tiki Bar, Sweets Revenge Bakery, Red Lobster – Merritt Island, The Sweetest Thing, A Slice of Heaven Cakes and Catering, The Tailored Cookie and Mimi’s Cafe serving samples of their sweet and savory treats.  In addition, coffee vendors like Starbucks and Troisi Imports will offer their signature blend of coffees, lattes and espressos. And for those wishing to partake in libations with a little more pizazz, a special event-themed beverage that’s sure to please, as well as a variety of other concoctions, will be available for purchase at the bar.

If the thought of consuming too many calories has you worried about gaining unwanted pounds, don’t be— the entertainment will keep you on your feet.  From ‘70s and ‘80s dance music to jazz to slow grooves, the Tampa-based Bay Kings Band will help you get your heart rate going.  That’s because this group of talented and professionally trained musicians knows how to jam.  Just ask artists like Stevie Wonder, Gotye, Alicia Keys, Michael Buble´ and Beck.  They are just a few of the internationally acclaimed recording stars that band members tour with when not playing together.

In addition to dining and dancing, “One Sweet Night” provides all the ingredients for a fun-filled night of fundraising.  Whether buying a specially themed basket or unique item at the silent auction; a piece of art created by BAC artists with disabilities at Cogswell Street Studio, the art program of Brevard Achievement Center; or directly donating to BAC’s “Sponsor A Client” program, those attending the event will make a lasting and meaningful impact.  Proceeds from “One Sweet Night” help BAC continue its mission to assist people with disabilities achieve independence through social, educational and vocational services and programs.  Sponsors like Florida Power and Light, the Community Credit Union, Miller Construction, Ford & Harrison, Badalato’s Family Health, Dr. Deborah Kearney, AFLAC, AETNA, Carr, Riggs & Ingram, ndtArtemis, Seacoast Bank, Craig Technologies, Florida Today, SCB Marketing, Amelia Woodbridge Communications, BBT-J.
