Cabinet Designs of Central Florida: Creating Dream Interiors for Over 30 Years

Cabinet Designs ShowroomKitchen remodeling is booming. With home values rising again and the multitude of TV shows dedicated to home design, business is hot. Kitchen design experts agree that design and maximizing storage space is key when it comes to the overall impression, functionality, and resale value of a home.

The team at Cabinet Designs of Central Florida knows this and offers unlimited design options at prices that may surprise the average shopper.

With an 11,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility behind its new showroom in Rockledge, Cabinet Designs cuts out the middlemen to ensure better pricing and faster turnaround. But it’s their expertise in design, craftsmanship, and installation that really sets them apart from their competitors. “We offer a very unique customer experience,” explained Scott Riley.  “There are no catalogs to pick through. Each cabinet and component is hand built and made-to-order. Our customers are looking for a higher quality cabinet with the ability to customize and personalize the details — without the high price tag. If you’re shopping value, we can’t be beat.”

Scott and his wife Leslie see their role as a guide — educating customers through the remodeling process and providing them with options along the way. “We don’t sell or push our customers into certain products. We work together and create the exact cabinets they want. Literally every job is customized to the tastes and needs of the customer,” added Leslie, whose keen eye for colors and style assists clients in designing the perfect cabinetry to match their décor and needs.

A Family Affair

Scott and Leslie have practically grown up in the custom cabinetry business — the two started dating while in junior high and married in 2003 following their graduation from Palm Beach Atlantic University. The twosome moved to Atlanta, where they worked in real estate and got their first taste of kitchen remodeling.  They opened Cabinet Designs of Atlanta in the Buckhead design district before moving back to Brevard almost a decade age to work side-by-side with Leslie’s parents, Sherry and Dan Scott, who founded Cabinet Designs of Central Florida in 1984.

Dan, who grew up in Brevard, is a master craftsman who loves working with his hands and creating unique cabinetry, bookcases, mantels, kitchen hoods and more. With over 40 years of woodworking experience, he’s a problem solver and teacher to the loyal staff that builds in the factory and installs on the job sites, many of whom have been with the company for over 15 years.

Dan’s wife of 34 years, Sherry, holds down the fort while wearing many hats — from sales to design to finance to human resources. She relishes working with her husband, daughter and son-in-law on a daily basis and even having a grandchild or two in the office from time to time.

While Sherry wouldn’t mind cutting back her hours in the office to travel, relax, play with the grandkids and look forward to retirement, Dan can’t sit still long enough to contemplate retirement.  “We’ll take a few trips, but I love coming to work and will be a part of this until I am no longer an asset,” laughed Dan. Watching Dan work and interact with the staff, it appears he’ll be coming to work for a long time still.
