Cocoa Beach Minutemen Moonwalk-A-Thon

Fifty years after two Apollo 11 astronauts walked on the moon on July 20, 1969, the Minutemen Moonwalk-A-Thon celebrates the accomplishment and valor of these first moonwalkers. This is not a race, but a fun run and fundraiser for GET ON TRACK to refurbish the aging track at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School as we celebrate the Apollo program and one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century. Moonwalkers may walk or run any distance on the track. Log your distance with an Apollo mission (laps around the track to equal the distance the astronauts walked or rode on the moon). The family-friendly event also includes Apollo memorabilia on display and space veterans on hand to share their stories, video of the moon landing, favorite tunes from the era, children’s activities and games, free refreshments, and commemorative shirts and merchandise available for purchase. Non-runners/walkers are welcome to attend also. Registration and packet pickup starts at 7:30 am.  Event t-shirts are $10 or $15 depending on style and are ordered during early registration. This event is sponsored by the Cocoa Beach Kiwanis Foundation and the Cocoa Beach Cross Country Booster Club. See for more information.
