First Annual Cocoa Beach Art Scavenger Hunt
The first Annual Cocoa Beach Art Scavenger Hunt will be held on Friday February 22, 2020 from 6 to 9 pm. The Studios of Cocoa Beach invites everyone to this family friendly event as we celebrate visual and performing arts . With the support of participating businesses in Downtown Cocoa Beach, art pieces will be scattered throughout public spaces and commercial locations inside and out. Artists will donate a variety of art: mixed media, painting, pottery, sculpture, stained glass, fabric, photography. Prints and originals. Businesses will donate gift certificates and discount s.. There will a grand prize raffle, artist demonstrations, performance artists and musicians.
Pick up your map ($3 donation) at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway, and follow clues to local businesses and public spaces. Search for art and tokens which are good at participating business. Along the way enjoy musicians and performers: music by Russ Rogers, a fiber installation by Jenni Barron, body painting with Donna Paloy and more.
Your donation includes one raffle ticket for a drawing to win a gift certificate or one of several art works such as the mixed media piece “Shell Storm’ by Lauren Richeson. These pieces will be on display at the Studios of Cocoa Beach. Additional tickets are available for $3.
Community participants are asked to respect a limit of two found items per person, though it is acceptable to switch a previously discovered art piece with a more desirable item if one is discovered later in the event.
When the search period has ended, a closing reception will take place at the Studios of Cocoa Beach where the raffle drawings will take place. There, participants will have an opportunity to meet the artists, show off their finds, and mingle with others while sharing experiences.
