Jeff Thamert, October Spotlight Artist at Downtown Art Gallery
With travel curtailed and our world seemingly smaller, this is the time to bring the natural world into our homes. There is no better way to expand our horizons than viewing the wonderful landscape photography created by Jeff Thamert. This October Spotlight Artist at the Downtown Art Gallery, 335 S. Washington Ave, in downtown Titusville, will captivate you with his expansive view of natural landscapes.
Jeff grew up in the Pacific Northwest. He moved to Titusville in 1996 where he learned to shoot with film. “Having worked with a professional photographer for many years, I received a lot of hands on training. That knowledge has grown over time and fueled my passion for capturing beautiful images of the breathtaking vistas I search for.” said Thamert.
Jeff’s primary focus is the deep south with its majestic oaks, cypress swamps and pristine beaches. Recent trips to the southwest have added mountains, canyons and deserts to the mix. No matter the subject, Jeff presents a view that you can fall into, a feeling that you are actually there.
Thamert has exhibited across the country in prestigious fine art shows including Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale, St. James Court in Louisville, Kentucky, Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff in Michigan and Images: a Festival of the Arts in New Smyrna Beach. He has won many awards for his large landscape photography including Winter Park’s Autumn Art Festival, Mainsail Art Festival in St. Petersburg and on permanent display at the Museum of Art & Sciences in Daytona.
Jeff’s work will be on view at the Downtown Art Gallery Monday thru Saturday 11am to 3pm or by appointment. This amazing art gallery, which also offers printing and framing services, features the work of 19 local artists with an emphasis on Florida themes.
