We’re in the midst of summer, and there’s no better time to fire up the grill to enjoy a delicious meal in the company of family and friends. In my house, my husband Jake is the typical “Grill Master.” I cook and bake in the kitchen, but when it comes to grilling, that’s my hubby’s territory. Fortunately, he believes in my same philosophy of quick, easy-to-make, tasty recipes. This steak recipe, appropriately called “Jake’s Steak,” is as simple as it gets and one of the best tasting steaks I’ve ever had! Enjoy and keep cookin’!

JAKE’S STEAK

Prep-to-Eat Time: Approx. 20 minutes

Ingredients:

2 8-oz. New York Strips

McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning

Vegetable or canola oil

Directions:

Let the steaks sit out to reach room temperature.

Set the grill to high heat.

Generously season both sides of the steaks with McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning.

Grease the grill with oil so the steaks don’t stick.

Place steaks on the grill over high heat.

Halfway through cooking, do a quarter turn to create grill marks.

Flip and repeat.

After cooking, let steaks rest 10 minutes off the grill to maintain juices.

Serving Suggestions:

With this juicy, meaty steak, try adding a lighter side. Something simple like a fresh tossed baby spinach salad with feta cheese and dried cranberries in a light vinaigrette dressing should hit the spot!

Photo creditNothing goes better with a great piece of steak then a fresh, cold beer! Try a Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with refreshing orange peels, like Blue Moon or Shock Top, served with an orange slice.
