Family Fun in the Sun

Hitting the road with kids in tow can be challenging, so finding a resort destination that’s less than a 2-hour drive from the Space Coast makes the Marriott Resort Palm Beach Singer Island the perfect family getaway.

Located beachside just seven miles southeast of the PGA Boulevard exit off I-95, the AAA Four-Diamond Award property is an all-suite resort, with 192 one- and two-bedroom suites providing ample space for families traveling with children and/or teens. Accommodations are spacious and include a fully-equipped kitchen with large KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave), plus a stove, coffeemaker, pots and pans and even a full washer and dryer.

Marriott-Resort-Palm-Beach-Singer-IslandWith two pools, the Lagoon Pool features a water slide and a Friday “dive-in” movie night for the kids, while the Infinity Pool is more tranquil with a poolside lounge and private cabanas – as well as a large private beach; there’s plenty to satisfy the aquatic lover, including surfing, snorkeling and beachcraft rentals such as kayaks and wave-runners. On land, the resort offers a fitness center, yoga and biking plus nearby golf, tennis and more for those looking to work off a few calories before relaxing in the sun or cuddling under a palm tree in a comfortable lounge chair for a short nap. Marriott also provides its beachside Kids Club for the 4-12 age group, offering daily activities from tie-dying and sand art to treasure digs and sea shell expeditions.

Mom and Dad can relax in the resort’s award-winning SiSpa, which offers world-class pampering and treatments. Inspired by the natural beauty and healing powers of the ocean, don’t miss the Replenishing Sargasso Seaweed Experience or some of the other unique renewing therapies available in SiSpa.

And what’s a getaway without a unique culinary experience? 3800 Ocean is the resort’s signature dining spot, shutterstock_240504301and this oceanfront restaurant delivers with a menu featuring regional specialties and an extensive wine list. If you’re feeling adventurous, reserve an exclusive seat at the private Kitchen Table for an unforgettable five-course experience (with optional wine pairings.)

With an 11 a.m. check-out, that still leaves plenty of time to stop by the Gardens Mall (at 3101 PGA Blvd.) on your way home. Grab lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille, stroll the mall visiting some of the many boutiques and name brands you can’t shop back home in Brevard like Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Armani Exchange, Burberry, Chanel, Henri Bendel and Jimmy Choo, and you’ll still be home in time for supper.

How to get there:

  • Take I-95 South to exit 79, PGA Blvd. (approximately 100 miles depending on where you get onto I-95)
  • Turn left onto FL-786/PGA Blvd. (2.7 miles)
  • PGA Blvd. will turn into FL-A1A/FL-703 (4.4 miles)
