Hello February, we love how you spoil us with fresh bouquets and scrumptious fine chocolates, but what we’re really excited about is this season’s romantic trends!  Luckily for us, fashion’s new take on feminine elements are focused on dazzling us with pretty details in unexpected places. No matter your tastes, with everything from ruffles to velvet, bows and embellishments, there’s a myriad of romantic looks for everyone.

Not your 16th century ruffles

Ruffles have been around since the 16th century, but they’re back big time in new and fresh ways. You’ll see this romantic detail on everything from sweaters to shoes and handbags in varying doses from bold to delicate …ruffles are everywhere! Something as casual as a sweater can be seen adorned with a dainty ruffle across the front or on the sleeves.  Pair this new twist of the sweater with jeans, chandelier earrings and heels and you’ve got a chic date night outfit. For a modern look, wear larger, structural ruffles that serve double duty as accessories on their own.

Velvet Crush

It’s true, velvet no longer is strictly associated with Holiday parties or black evening wear. Designers have introduced the luxe fabric in an array of styles like boots and t-shirts in colors like pretty pink and canary yellow. Its plush texture makes it so cozy to wear yet it adds instant glam to any look. Knowing how to wear velvet is key; you want to balance the look with just the right amount.  Wearing velvet boots or heels with a monochromatic ensemble is sure to make a “less is more” statement. Velvet tees worn with jeans are a great way to add a little “wow” to a more casual look.  Velvet dresses in longer, flowing romantic silhouettes paired with stilettoes or strappy heels make for an elegant date night.  With all these choices, we’ll all still be crushing on velvet well into 2018!

Embellished Everything!

Have you noticed the ultra-feminine embellishment details everywhere?  Everyday casual pieces are given a makeover with sequins, beading and embroidery.  Simple slide on sneakers are trading in their canvas for luxe satin, pearls and rhinestones-such a comfy and new way to be pretty! It seems not an inch of fashion is being left untouched. Even chunky heels get a dusting of glitter and a splash of beading. Gone are the days of drab sweatshirts; they can be spotted adorned with shimmering lace appliques. The embellishment trend continues gracing all accessories. Handbags are certainly not left behind, getting the same treatment!  Chandelier earrings are still statement pieces, yet the more ornate kind take the prize. The combination of these beauties with your daywear, make it easy to transition into an evening look. During this season of love, treat yourself and have fun with all these beautiful feminine elements and add a touch of romance to your own wardrobe!
