Ballroom dancing has taken on a new life since the popular ABC show “Dancing with the Stars” hit television sets in 2005. Now, the once stuffy ballroom dance class is a hip and trendy way to have some fun and learn a new step or two!

Say “I Do” With a New Step

Melbourne Ballroom was opened sixteen years ago by Lance Sexton. Then a modest 1,300 square foot studio, today the 3,000 square foot facility includes two ballrooms for private lessons, group classes, dance parties and showcase events. Instructors offer a variety of classes, including lessons for soon to be newlyweds. Couples who want to wow their guests with a choreographed first dance can bring their own music and have a dance specially choreographed for them at private dance lessons, or they can choose from Melbourne Ballroom’s selections. Either way, jaws will drop after the first dance.

Not Your Typical Dance Class

No matter what your reason is for getting into ballroom dancing – exercise, socializing, or trying something new – classes today offer the variety and energy that will keep you coming back for more. Try  private lessons or group classes; they even host Saturday night dance parties where everyone can get together and practice their new moves in a fun relaxed environment. Learn various styles of dance; no need for prior experience!
